Yes, Atom CMMS on makini.io is the Atom asset and maintenance management platform from AtomAI Solutions Inc., a company that started inside SADA Systems and became independent in early 2023. It serves public agencies, departments of transportation, utilities and facility or fleet teams; the Utah Department of Transportation chose it in 2023 for ITS maintenance. Crews use the Atom app on iOS and Android, including offline, while managers plan work and budgets on the desktop.
Atom records maintenance, inspection and other work orders built from work templates, with required fields enforced in the mobile app, plus the assets, materials, equipment, labor hours and budgets attached to them. Inventory covers both dynamic and static assets with cost based tracking and sub items. Time tracking can feed payroll systems, and custom reports and analytics are built on the same data, so one Atom record holds the whole history of a job.
Atom is map based and its asset inventory can be published to GIS: the Utah Department of Transportation exposes its Atom asset data set as a view only ArcGIS feature service with layers such as culverts, guardrail, catch basins and sign assemblies. Atom itself describes integration with internal mapping tools, geospatial work orders and spatial insights rather than naming a GIS vendor, so confirm the mapping setup with each agency before relying on coordinates.
Makini connects to Atom through Makini Link, which the vendor embeds in its product or sends as a magic link, so the agency's Atom credentials never pass through the vendor application. Makini then syncs the connection on a plan based interval and exposes Atom records as unified models such as work orders, assets, stock, locations, sites, customers and vendors, where the connection exposes them. Atom is a Tier II platform in Makini's connection credit model.
Start by reading Atom assets and open work orders through Makini so each monitored asset maps to the record crews already use. Then, where the connection and the connecting user's Atom permissions allow, create a work order in Atom with the asset, location and a description of the detected fault. Keep assignment, scheduling and closing with the agency's planners, and remember that the new record appears in Atom after the next sync, not instantly.
No, Makini syncs Atom on an interval set by the Makini plan: every 6 hours on the free trial, up to every 2 hours on Grow and up to every 15 minutes on Enterprise, so a work order closed in the Atom app shows up in a vendor product after the next sync. Connection status (Pending, Synchronizing, Active, Inactive) and the last sync time are visible in the Makini dashboard and connection status API.
