Hexagon ALI EAM is HxGN EAM, the enterprise asset management system Hexagon bought from Infor in 2021 as Infor EAM and later ran in its Asset Lifecycle Intelligence division. In May 2026 the division became part of Octave, a public company spun off from Hexagon, and the product is now Octave Attune EAM. It serves utilities, manufacturers, fleets and facilities, with equipment hierarchies of assets, positions and systems, work orders, preventive maintenance schedules, inspections, calibration, parts and stores, requisitions and purchase orders.
Where a connection exposes these records, the Hexagon ALI EAM MCP saves planners a round of Dataspy filters. A maintenance planner asks which open work orders on one pump position are past their due date. A reliability engineer pulls the work order history and meter readings for an asset before revising its PM schedule. A storeroom clerk checks stock of a part across stores against open requisitions. The agent can also prepare a work order for a supervisor to review.
You sign in to your EAM tenant through Makini Link, then paste the MCP endpoint Makini issues into Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or another MCP client, and get_connection_details shows which objects and fields that connection offers. EAM checks every web service call against the connecting user's user group and its Interface Permissions, and each record belongs to an organization, so grant only the organizations and functions the job needs. For on-premises installations, IT can allow Makini's fixed IP addresses or set up a VPN.

Octave Attune EAM is the current name of Hexagon ALI EAM: Octave describes it as the updated, rebranded version of HxGN EAM, which Hexagon acquired from Infor as Infor EAM. Octave was spun off from Hexagon in 2026. Documentation, partners and older installations may use any of these names, so check which release your site runs before you plan an integration.
You connect Hexagon ALI EAM, now Octave Attune EAM, to Claude or ChatGPT through Makini: sign in to your EAM tenant via Makini Link, then paste the MCP endpoint Makini issues into the client, or into Cursor or another MCP client. Calling get_connection_details then shows which objects and fields the connection exposes, such as work orders, work requests, stock items or meter readings.
Hexagon ALI EAM tracks calibration data for equipment categories, assets, systems and positions and links test-point data to work orders. Its inspection module covers inspection planning, inspection point scheduling, classification of results and checklists. Where the connection exposes these records, an agent can summarize recent inspection results for one site so a supervisor can decide which follow-up work orders to raise.
Yes, Attune EAM mobility, the current Hexagon ALI EAM mobile capability, lets workers access, capture and manage information online or offline at the job site. Offline records reach the server only after the device syncs, so an agent asking about today's completed work or new meter readings may see gaps until crews reconnect. Treat same-day backlog or close-out figures as provisional.
Octave lists Databridge Pro as the integration layer for Attune EAM, the current Hexagon ALI EAM, supporting BOD, RESTful API, OData and other interface contracts. Which options you have depends on your release and licensing. An AI agent does not call any of them directly: it talks to Makini's MCP endpoint, and Makini's hosted connector handles the EAM side.
Hexagon ALI EAM, sold today as Octave Attune EAM, is delivered on the Amazon Web Services cloud, and Octave's brochure also lists on-premise options. A cloud tenant connects through Makini Link without network changes. For an installation on your own network, IT can allow Makini's fixed IP addresses through the firewall or set up a VPN before the pilot starts.
A Hexagon ALI EAM admin should create a dedicated user for the agent rather than reuse a planner's login, and put it in a user group whose Interface Permissions cover only the functions it needs. Assign only the organizations in scope, since every record belongs to one. Connect a test or training environment first, and agree who reviews anything the agent drafts.
Only where your Hexagon ALI EAM connection and permissions allow it: Makini's MCP tool list includes create_work_request, create_work_order and update_work_order, but a write works only if the connection exposes it and the user group's Interface Permissions permit it. Start with read access, then let the agent submit work requests that a planner turns into work orders.
