IVO Systems makes operations software for heavy civil construction contractors, covering projects, equipment and employees in one field-first platform. MaintainVO sets preventive maintenance schedules by hours, mileage or dates and manages work orders and parts lists, and MaintainVO+ ties mechanic time to work orders. EqInspectVO handles electronic equipment inspection forms, TrackVO tracks equipment by project, TelematicsVO updates hour meters from telematics, and DispatchVO manages dispatch tickets. Other modules cover crew scheduling, timecards, rental equipment, long-term planning and 811 locate tickets.
Where a connection exposes these records, the IVO Systems MCP lets equipment and shop staff get answers without paging through the fleet. An equipment manager asks the agent which machines will reach their next PM within 50 hours, based on the latest hour meter readings. A shop foreman lists the open work orders for one excavator together with its recent failed inspections. A dispatcher checks which equipment is assigned to a project before moving a dozer to another job. The agent can also draft a work order from a failed inspection for the shop to review.
You sign in to IVO Systems through Makini Link, then paste the MCP endpoint Makini issues into Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or another MCP client, and get_connection_details shows which objects and fields that connection offers. Connect with a dedicated account that holds only the access the job needs. If IVO is linked to Viewpoint Vista or Spectrum, work orders, mechanic timecards and meter readings flow on to accounting, so keep final changes with the shop.

IVO Systems is priced as one annual subscription based on company size and selected modules, with company-wide access and no seat-based licensing. The vendor's FAQ gives a typical range of $4,500 to over $50,000 per year. Modules can be bought separately, most contracts run one to two years, and quotes come from the sales team rather than a public price list.
Yes, IVO Systems is a web-based application that runs on desktops, tablets and phones, with nothing to download. Field staff complete inspection forms, log meter readings on dispatch moves and submit timecards from their own dashboards or from text notifications. IVO says it is hosted on a cloud platform with continuous backups and that implementation can take a few days.
IVO Systems integrates through IntegrationsVO with Viewpoint Vista, Viewpoint Spectrum, Foundation, Sage 100 Contractor, Sage 300 CRE and Deltek ComputerEase. With Vista and Spectrum it pulls payroll, cost codes and equipment data and pushes back work orders, mechanic timecards and meter readings. With the others it mainly imports cost codes and wage rates and exports approved timecards.
IVO Systems updates hour meters and odometers from manual entry, equipment inspections, employee schedule notifications, dispatch tickets and telematics. TelematicsVO pulls automated readings from OEM platforms such as Caterpillar VisionLink, John Deere JDLink, My Komatsu and Volvo CareTrack, and from providers such as Samsara and Geotab. Before an agent forecasts PM due dates, have it show the source and date of each latest reading.
You connect IVO Systems to Claude or ChatGPT through Makini: sign in to IVO through Makini Link with your existing credentials, receive a unique MCP endpoint, and add it to your MCP client's configuration. Each connection runs on its own token, scoped to what those credentials can do, and every call is logged. Then call get_connection_details to see which IVO objects and fields are exposed.
An AI agent can create work orders in IVO Systems only if your connection and the IVO user's permissions allow it, although Makini's tool list includes create_work_order. A wrong work order or hour reading can shift PM due dates, and when IVO is linked to Vista or Spectrum, work orders and meter readings flow on to accounting. Start read-only and keep final entries with mechanics or the shop.
An IVO Systems admin should create a dedicated user for the connection and use IVO's custom user permissions to limit it to equipment, maintenance and inspection data. Leave out timecards and payroll unless the agent needs them, since TimeVO holds employee hours, pay types and cost codes. Agree with the shop which divisions and equipment the agent may see, and start with read-only questions.
IVO Systems tracks inspection compliance in EqInspectVO, where inspection forms are assigned to equipment classes or specific machines and every submitted form builds a historical record. Managers can see in ScheduleVO who has not filled out daily inspections, and action items or repair requests appear in the Maintenance Dashboard. Where inspections are exposed, an agent can list machines on a project without a recent inspection.
