RF-SMART is a warehouse management and mobile barcode scanning solution from RF-SMART of Jacksonville, Florida, which serves more than 3,500 customers in distribution, manufacturing, retail, healthcare and logistics. It runs inside an ERP rather than beside it: for Oracle NetSuite it is built in as a SuiteApp with one login and one database, and versions exist for Oracle Fusion Cloud SCM, Oracle JD Edwards and Microsoft Dynamics AX. Warehouse staff use scanners for receiving, putaway, picking, packing, parcel and LTL shipping, cycle counts, bin transfers, license plates and manufacturing transactions, recorded in the ERP database.
Where a connection exposes the relevant records, the RF-SMART WMS MCP lets a warehouse lead check the floor without running saved searches. A shipping lead asks the agent which sales orders are still waiting for picks or fulfillments for today's carrier cutoff. An inventory manager has it compare cycle count results with inventory adjustments posted this week for one location. A receiving lead lists open purchase orders due at the dock, and the agent can draft an inventory transfer between bins for a person to confirm.
You sign in through Makini Link, then paste the MCP endpoint Makini issues into Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or another MCP client, and get_connection_details shows which objects and fields that connection offers. Because RF-SMART keeps its data in the ERP, the role or user behind the connection, such as a NetSuite role, decides what the agent can read or write. Keep scanning on the floor; use the agent for review.

You connect RF-SMART to Claude or ChatGPT by connecting the ERP it runs in, since RF-SMART records scans in that ERP rather than in a separate database. Sign in to that ERP through Makini Link, paste the MCP endpoint Makini issues into your MCP client, and run get_connection_details. It lists the purchase orders, sales orders, fulfillments, inventory and other records the connection exposes.
RF-SMART works with Oracle NetSuite, where it is a Built for NetSuite SuiteApp used by more than 2,800 NetSuite customers, and with Oracle Fusion Cloud SCM. It holds Oracle Validated Integration for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne and World, and lists validated integration with Microsoft Dynamics AX 3, 4, 2009, 2012 and Dynamics 365. Object names and permissions follow the ERP, so prompts written for NetSuite may need rewording for Oracle Cloud.
RF-SMART for NetSuite has no separate database: it runs inside NetSuite with one login and one database. On Oracle Fusion Cloud SCM, the scanner sends data directly to Oracle Cloud, and workers can use single sign-on. For JD Edwards, RF-SMART manages devices, users and printing through its web-based SmartConsole while keeping modifications outside the ERP, so ask your partner where any RF-SMART specific settings are kept.
Yes, RF-SMART announced barcode-driven, multi-carrier shipping for Oracle Fusion Cloud SCM on 9 March 2026, with carrier rate comparison and visibility into shipping performance and costs. For NetSuite it already supports parcel and LTL shipping. Where the connection exposes fulfillments and their carrier fields, an agent can count shipments per carrier last week or list orders that missed the day's cutoff.
In RF-SMART a license plate uniquely identifies the inventory stored in a pallet or container, with its items, lots, quantities, serials and location. In NetSuite, scanning the plate fills in those details for receiving, putaway, picking and transfers. Whether license plate records reach an agent depends on your ERP and connection, so check get_connection_details before you ask what sits on a plate.
RF-SMART still lists validated integration with Dynamics AX 2012, but Microsoft ended extended support for Dynamics AX 2012 R3 on 11 January 2023. Confirm with RF-SMART and your partner which version is maintained before you rely on an agent's answers. If AX runs on your own servers, IT can allowlist Makini's fixed IP addresses in the firewall or set up a VPN so Makini can reach it.
No, an AI agent does not run RF-SMART scanner workflows; receiving, picking and counts stay with staff on mobile devices. The agent works on ERP records, and a write such as create_inventory_transfer succeeds only if the connection exposes it and the ERP user is allowed. Start with reads, then let the agent draft transfers or purchase orders that a person confirms in the ERP.
Give the agent a dedicated NetSuite role and user with access only to the records it needs for RF-SMART reporting, such as items, transfers, fulfillments and purchase orders, and limit it to the relevant locations where your setup allows. Test in a NetSuite sandbox first, since it starts as a copy of production with its setup, data and customizations, so prompts meet realistic records.
