For bulk operations, we recommend batch processing with appropriate rate limiting and error handling. Makini Flows provides built-in batch processing capabilities with configurable batch sizes, delays between batches, and error handling. For API-based bulk operations, implement pagination when retrieving large datasets—our API returns results in pages with continuation tokens for fetching subsequent pages. When writing large volumes of data, break operations into smaller batches (typically 50-100 records per batch) with delays between batches to avoid overwhelming the target system. Implement comprehensive error logging to identify which specific records fail in a batch. For very large operations (thousands of records), consider asynchronous processing patterns where you queue operations and process them in the background.
Makini monitors connection health continuously and provides multiple ways to detect reauthorization needs. The connection status endpoint returns the current state including whether reauthorization is required. Makini sends webhooks when connections enter a state requiring reauthorization, allowing proactive notification. API requests to a connection requiring reauthorization return specific error codes prompting reconnection. The Makini dashboard displays connection status across all customers. Best practice is to implement webhook listeners for connection status changes and proactively notify customers when reauthorization is needed, rather than waiting for operations to fail. Include clear instructions on how to reconnect in your notification.
Yes, through Makini Flows, which includes connectors for popular databases including Snowflake, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and others. This enables workflows that synchronize data between industrial systems and your data warehouse or analytics platforms. For example, you can sync purchase orders from SAP to Snowflake for analytics, or use database queries to drive integration logic. Database integrations use the same workflow builder as other integrations, making it easy to combine industrial system data with database operations. For direct database-to-database syncing, we can help design optimized workflows. Database connections are treated as custom integrations and may require additional workflow development.
You have two options:
• Option A: Upload the Makini public certificate (available in the Resources section of the guide)
• Option B: Generate your own self-signed certificate using OpenSSL and upload the public key to NetSuite
